RAMBLING: A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

Or what woman, having ten bits of silver, if one bit has gone from her hands, will not get a light, and go through her house, searching with care till she sees it? 9 And when she has it again, she gets her friends and neighbours together, saying, Be glad with me, for I have got back the bit of silver which had gone from me. Luke 15:8-9 (BBE) Webster's New World Dictionary defines a miracle as "A remarkable event or thing, marvel." It also defines it as "An event or action that apparently contr… Continue

Two Wolves

The following comes from two of my co-workers. the best I have ever heard life explained!! Edward TWO WOLVES One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. "One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. "The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility… Continue

RAMBLING: BILLY

This afternoon, around supper time, we got hit hard with a rain storm, wind along with thunder and lightening. Just brfore the rain hit us full force I looked out my living room window and to my surprise I saw Billy. Now Billy is a black squirrel, who along with Charlie a gray squirrel, come to my window ledge on the third floor of my apartment building to enjoy their daily helping of peanuts. Now Billy was determined in spite of the high winds to enjoy his meal and would not allow the wind, rai… Continue

Angel. Continued

First, thank you to all who have responded. I have been away for awhile and have not responded until now. I was seriously thinking of taking Angel to the Vet but decided I did I would check around first. I deal with a couple of Pet Stores whose managers deal with cats. The first thing I was asked "What has Angel been eating?" It appears he may have picked up something unknown. I kept a close eye on him and he appeared to have a upset stomach and I gave him 1/2 gravol two days in a row which hel… Continue

Bird's Song

Life is not intended to be simply a round of work, no matter how interesting and important that work may be. A moments pause to watch the glory of a sunrise or sunset is soul satisfying, while a bird's song will set the steps to music all day long -Laura Ingalls Wilder Continue

ANGEL

I wonder if someone out there can help. I have a 12-13 year old cat called angel. Lately he has been throwing up a lot, especially this week. At first it was hairballs along with a bit of his regular food. Now he is throwing up clear bile. He is still a healthy looking cat but seldom eats except some dry treats like TEMPTATION. He drinks water. The other day I gave him a 1/4 gravol which has worked in the past on another pet I had. Any ideas? Please Continue

Strange Summer

Greetings All Hope you good folks are all doing ok and that you actually have summer. Our summer here in Ontario finally arrived about two days ago with temps hitting about mid-seventies. June and July have been mostly very wet, windy, and cool. Its been a "breeding ground" for viral infections, bronchitis, colds, misery, and all the other stuff that goes with this weather. Rain has been falling so hard at times that has created flooding with many basements damaged and folks having to throw out… Continue

RAMBLING: REALITY

Normally the following post might not be typical for this GROUP however let me hasten to add that the economy is affecting PETS & their owners. One story is of a young fellow who lost his job and his apartment and had to part with his beloved dog. Animal shelters are noticing an increase of pets being dropped off because folks can no longer care for their pets because of finances, a lack thereof. Skypilot Good Morning I realize I have been MIA for some time and this due to having a very… Continue

2 for 1

You cannot face another day? You’re tired, sad and done? You’ve lost all hope? Now life for you Has neither thrill nor fun? Though cherished dreams of mine are gone, I bid you, friend, keep on, keep on! -unknown Every day we see someone who is discouraged, weary, burdened down with loneliness, friendless, shoulders slumped from carrying their heavy burdens. Their eyes are filled with defeat ; despair clouds their face. So what can we do? We can speak a word of encouragement. A word of e… Continue
