- I have two donkeys, named Joanne and Ellsworth, which are my parent's middle names. They love to tell people about their namesake granddonkeys down in Florida. I have one dog, a mixed mutt (yellow lab, shepherd, dobie and several other things) named Duke--he recently 'got married' to my friend's dog, Roxi, a red chow/pit bull mix. We plan to take one of the puppies--they oughta be very interesting looking pups..lol! Then there's the bunny, I bought for my niece's science fair project last year. The title was 'Will Bun-Bun Cross the Finish Line,' with the alternate title underneath, 'OR...How I Finally Got My Father to Buy Me a Rabbit.' And last, but not least...a whole bunch of cats--not sure how many, but probably more than 20. They are all half Siamese--some have Siamese markings, most of them are black or black & white, with a few gray tigers. The old, old grandma cat lives in the house. There are a few that are in and out. The rest live outdoors.
I also have a husband, an adult son, a 98 y/o mother-in-law, and four 'adopted' nieces--Big niece, 24; medium niece, 11; little niece, 6; tiny niece, 3; and a soon-to-be baby nephew.
- Where is your own piece of paradise?
- We live on 32 acres of raw woods, in west central Florida, about 45 miles north of Tampa, so there's lots of room for our critters to roam. We are frequently visited by deer, sometimes right up in the front yard. We see wild turkeys all the time. Once in awhile we even see a fox.
Yes, our summers can be brutal......but I'll still take that over the cold and snow...BRRRRR!

It's been a while since we've chatted. I hope this finds you doing well. Please do let us know if we can do anything different or improve the site for you in some way. We value all of our members and hate to see when folks don't visit us anymore so please know that you are important and that we're listening.
Been a while since I left an update on everyone's page, so I thought I would take some time and share what's been happening on PLP.
We have a really unique contest that I am hoping that people join in on. It's really not so much a contest as it is a way for us to create a calendar to share all of our pet pictures. Check it out by going here.
Ning has added a lot of new features, and some things they have taken away. Let's get to the fun part first! We can now add "system wide" apps that everyone can use. I'm still trying to figure out what would be fun, but, one thing I did add is a games page. The games page can be found under the Community menu and it's the last option -- or, just click HERE. If anyone has used the apps before, and has a recommendation, just let me know.
One of the things that was removed was our ability to invite other Ning friends to our community. If you are a member of other pet sites and want to invite your friends here, just log on to www.ning.com. You will see all of the sites that you belong to by clicking on "Social Networks".
Once you are on the page where PLP displays, select "Recommend" and you can then recommend PLP to your friends from other Ning sites or to our little home. We really appreciate it when you invite other folks to join our community. We only grow by word of mouth and appreciate the support.
