- I have 6 rescues. One from a rescue group and the other five I rescued from damnation. They have given me more joy and love then I ever could have imagined. And they made me realize the simple things in life that everyone should notice. My three pups find more joy in wearing a collar and having a kennel of their own then any treat or bone I have ever given them. One lived on the street, one was abused and neglected, and one abandoned... at the time they were in these horrific conditions they did not have a "safe place" to go in and did not have a momma or daddy to call their own. The second I brought them home I put collars on them and gave them a kennel they could hide in whenever they wanted to be alone, no one is allowed to scold them or take them out of their kennel when they are in it and that brings them such comfort. The collar I have noticed brings so much joy, a friend of mine who has rescues as well and I believe that the collar to them means they have a home. When I take my babies collars off to give them a bath, they will not go outside, I believe they are afraid to not have that safety and love that a simple collar proves to them. They made me realize the simplest things show the most love. It's not about the big things in life but the things that bring the most joy. Every day when I come home from work, my six babies run to the door when they see me coming and won't leave me alone til I go to bed, who else has 6 babies and a husband who adore them and want nothing better than to cuddle with them and play tug of war. My kitties, oh how sweet my kitties are, they have taught me that the world is not something to be feared when you have someone who loves you. All three of my kitties were feral when found, they were terrified of the world. Two of them I found together and they, relying on each other, have become outgoing and loving to the rest of the family because they had their sibling to protect them. My first kitty would hide for days when we first got him, now that he trusts the family, he will attack the big dogs. There is no fear when family is around you. That is what my babies have taught me: no fear when you have family because they will protect you, and enjoy the simple things in life. If you read this, and your babies taught you something great, leave me a message I would love to hear about it.
- Where is your own piece of paradise?
- My piece of paradise is the unconditional love my 6 babies give me. They were old news and garbage to the first "owners" yet with me they are my babies and they taught me what unconditional love really means.

Been a while since I left an update on everyone's page, so I thought I would take some time and share what's been happening on PLP.
We have a really unique contest that I am hoping that people join in on. It's really not so much a contest as it is a way for us to create a calendar to share all of our pet pictures. Check it out by going here.
Ning has added a lot of new features, and some things they have taken away. Let's get to the fun part first! We can now add "system wide" apps that everyone can use. I'm still trying to figure out what would be fun, but, one thing I did add is a games page. The games page can be found under the Community menu and it's the last option -- or, just click HERE. If anyone has used the apps before, and has a recommendation, just let me know.
One of the things that was removed was our ability to invite other Ning friends to our community. If you are a member of other pet sites and want to invite your friends here, just log on to www.ning.com. You will see all of the sites that you belong to by clicking on "Social Networks".
Once you are on the page where PLP displays, select "Recommend" and you can then recommend PLP to your friends from other Ning sites or to our little home. We really appreciate it when you invite other folks to join our community. We only grow by word of mouth and appreciate the support.

We've missed a lot of folks lately, and we just want to get that good ol' Pet Lovers Paradise joy back. If you can spare a minute, please pass a hug on to five other members of the site and suggest that they do the same. It's a small gesture, but one that will go a long way to opening new friendships and, hopefully, creating more activity on the site.
Here's my attempt at creating new friendships and/or just sharing a tidbit about me. I am going to be a Grandma soon -- actually, very soon. The baby's due date is July 4th.

HI KATELYN THE BLEACHED BONES LOOK LIKE REAL HOLLOW HARD BONES. THEY ARE WHITE & THEY HAVE THEM IN DIFFERENT SIZES AT PETSMAART. SOME EVEN HAVE STUFF IN SIDE OF THE BONE. THE HAVE ALSO BEEF FLAVORED ONES TOO. I WILL TAKE A PICTURE TODAY & POST IT IN THAT DISCUSSION ARE. Delete Comment
