Hey there!! Our furry family consist of one dog, Tobie, and EIGHT cats!! They are: Sam, Beautiful, Ella, Jack, BoRound, MaryBean, Chester and Nugget.

Where is your own piece of paradise?

My paradise is being right here at home piled up in a chair with eight cats surrounding me!! And, let me say...No outfit is complete without kittie fur!!!

Been a while since I left an update on everyone's page, so I thought I would take some time and share what's been happening on PLP.
We have a really unique contest that I am hoping that people join in on. It's really not so much a contest as it is a way for us to create a calendar to share all of our pet pictures. Check it out by going .

Ning has added a lot of new features, and some things they have taken away. Let's get to the fun part first! We can now add "system wide" apps that everyone can use. I'm still trying to figure out what would be fun, but, one thing I did add is a games page. The games page can be found under the Community menu and it's the last option -- or, just click Here
. If anyone has used the apps before, and has a recommendation, just let me know.

One of the things that was removed was our ability to invite other Ning friends to our community. If you are a member of other pet sites and want to invite your friends here, just log on to www.ning.com. You will see all of the sites that you belong to by clicking on "Social Networks".

Once you are on the page where PLP displays, select "Recommend" and you can then recommend PLP to your friends from other Ning sites or to our little home. We really appreciate it when you invite other folks to join our community. We only grow by word of mouth and appreciate the support.

At 9:45am on July 18, 2009, Shirley West said…: Thanks for the comment you left about my cats sorry this comment is late but i belong to so many different groups and not being very computer literate I have a hard time navagating to all the different groups plus with the old mind i dont always remember where I have been and what comments I have left, so I apoligise if i am doing this again, I thought i had alot of cats at one time, I think the most i had at one time was 7 so you had me beat by 1, I just cant remember a time in my old life when I did not have a pet, I have loved animals all my life, I just cant imagine what life would be without them they just love us so unconditionally, this old world would sure be a much better place if people were like that, I just love the fact that you have so many pets and love them so deeply I also have a Mini Schnauzer have had that breed for around 30 years of my life at one time I had 3 of them but they passed many years ago and of course i had to have another one. my little nitro pill which is what I named her is 3 years old, I just love there personality and there energy, but of course I dont know what animal I dont love, as a child we had chickens and i made pets out of those too and in my adult life i have also had a pet pot belly pig that I was lied to about she was not full blooded pot belly she was a cross and a inside pig that got up to over 200 lbs sadly she has passed now too but they are so very smart, but when she would run through the house the whole floor whould shake. Enough about me and my zoo tell me more about you and did you have that grandbaby and was it a girl or boy and I bet Grandma is very proud. Have a great day! Shirley

It's a small gesture, but one that will go a long way to opening new friendships and, hopefully, creating more activity on the site.

Here's my attempt at creating new friendships and sharing a tidbit about me. I am going to be a Grandma soon -- actually, very soon. The baby's due date is July 4th.
