- I found this lovely little place to hang out this morning after doing some searching online for pet loves like myself. We have welcomed a little lady into our lives and her name is Cinnabun. And she rules our home! I've watched my better half, a manly type man melt into someone I don't recognize when he is around her. I just have to add that this little lady is our first animal together, so this is a new experience for both of us. Everyone in my life has known how I have longed for a pet/family member. I found her through a pet rescue. She is believed to be 9 years old and the vet thinks she is full blooded Chihuahua. I'd love to hear from anyone that may know a little something to share about Chihuahua's. She is our queen!

- We live in Niles, Michigan. That is just a bit north of South Bend, Indiana-home of Notre Damne college. And just about 2 hours south east of Chicago!

Turkey meatballs-Chihuahua Style
1 med. sweet potato, cubed and steamed
1 T leftover grain (barley, rice, quinoa)
1 cup frozen peas
1 t flaxseed oil (from my bottle)
1/2 cup dry kibble (smash up w/mortar&pestle)
1 egg beaten with 1T. water
Splash of chicken broth
Wiz a bit in food processor to fine texture (for my Chihuahua)
Not necessary for bigger dogs!
Mix and roll like meatballs. Pop them into mini-muffin tins and bake!
350 for 15 minutes for my little ones.

Been a while since I left an update on everyone's page, so I thought I would take some time and share what's been happening on PLP.
We have a really unique contest that I am hoping that people join in on. It's really not so much a contest as it is a way for us to create a calendar to share all of our pet pictures. Check it out by going here.
Ning has added a lot of new features, and some things they have taken away. Let's get to the fun part first! We can now add "system wide" apps that everyone can use. I'm still trying to figure out what would be fun, but, one thing I did add is a games page. The games page can be found under the Community menu and it's the last option -- or, just click HERE. If anyone has used the apps before, and has a recommendation, just let me know.
One of the things that was removed was our ability to invite other Ning friends to our community. If you are a member of other pet sites and want to invite your friends here, just log on to www.ning.com. You will see all of the sites that you belong to by clicking on "Social Networks".
Once you are on the page where PLP displays, select "Recommend" and you can then recommend PLP to your friends from other Ning sites or to our little home. We really appreciate it when you invite other folks to join our community. We only grow by word of mouth and appreciate the support.
