I now have 46 house cats, most are rescues and all are very special to my wife and I. We have a website to help pay for there care. http://www.petloverspalace.com but the first 10% goes to my local shelter ( Addison County Humane Society ) in Middlebury Vermont.

All of our pets are rescues--we currently have 6 cats and a dog, and may take another dog in when we get moved (who knows when that will be? LOL). I've never bought a pet IN MY LIFE, and I never intend to--I still have a purebred dog, tho! So easy to find nowadays--they're castoffs, poor guys.

I have an adopted little boy, Pepper, over one year now, and he is a little happy and healthy guy. I'd wish to do more for all these pets! My heart is bleeding knowing how many need homes and love.

I have a rescue,almost 6 years now , both joy and pain in having it.I have placed hundreds or more in good homes, some extremely good ones, some not as great but loving and good.One or two even where sad to say ended in divorce and fighting over who gets the dog, and she is doing very well.But Have had no help, no donations, and so many many needs now winter coming the facilities are not as we need, out of my home, and with all else I have got to quit, pains me but without the needs even near met, and now rescues and more even are needed where there is no time limit.Here if no foster care places the animals can and most often are taken by force by pound and put down.I am over count and time, if they were to die I want too also, one can be dead and yet till walk around and be as good as dead, I can not bare the thought of failing these last ones and it will be hard after too due to the very high amount dumped here and even at my door sometimes. We started rescue basically by accident just trying to help a few, as I said this is a very high dump area and many get shot. and when they are at your door and in desperate need what can you do?? We have lived poverty level for long time now so it really takes all we get just to keep them alive and fed and still not sure how we done it so far, God of course but we also lost some over the years as some come ill etc.even my own pets suffered in trying to save these others.$50,000, in medical bill for me due to no insurance and bites sustained ,Christian whose faith is in a low I never thought it could be due to much of all that has happened, people who say how wonderful what you do but do not help in any way or give one cent, others who attack me for trying and saving lives, and have saved many.But the few not saved torments me because some was due to lack of help and funds,...I am sorry I did not mean to vent so.But I have no license so few care if they can not get a tax credit for it so do not help and I am really scared for these remaining babies and so many with all the licenses are not what they seem I even know some on pet finders who are not what they claim, not their fault they have so many folk can't check all out, but is is so frustrating when the needs are so real and I give all I have and am for these precious ones, and they are worth it to me and wish I could continue only better.Again sorry for all this, I only meant to ask if I can get help here to reach out and any advice I might can use to get these at least placed or some miracle property given me so they could be safe for as long as it takes to find homes.We really need now with all the problems people are having and so many dumped and worse, we need supported sanctuary in at least every state or county. There are people out there who care but want nothing to do with it themselves on a one to one bases, or no time to that could help the folks that would give their very lives if need be. Pleas at least can someone help me find homes for these that are left before it is too late,money could change it all including better vet and other care and advertising them but.. Thsi is part of my faith trial, so many believers don't thing they are important, thank God we have many true and wonderful folk on aspca and other groups that are Christians and love and care for the animals and know God does too. Any ideas or advise , besides shut up Iand quit, I will do that too, it is not easy, very scary to open up as it is, seen so many bad humans since starting this, it is hard to care for people, but we must, He does. Love to all who love the animals and are doing what they can where they are,God Bless you all so very much and please pray fro me and these precious ones. jc.

I adopted your pet today...

the one you left at the pound;

the one you had for ten years

and no longer wanted around.

I adopted your pet today...

Did you know that he's lost weight?

Did you know he's scared and depressed

and seems to have lost all faith?

I adopted your pet today...

He had fleas and a little cold;

Guess you don't care what shape he's in

— You abandoned him I am told.

I adopted your pet today...

Were you having a baby or moving away?

Did you suddenly develop allergies,

or was there NO reason he couldn't stay?

I adopted your pet today...

He doesn't play or even eat much;

I guess he's very sad inside and

it'll take time for him to trust.

I adopted your pet today...

and here he is going to stay;

He's found his FOREVER home

and a warm bed in which to lay.

I adopted your pet today...

and shall give him all that he will need

— patience, love, and security,

so he can forget your selfish deed.

We welcome Tanner. Rescued when he fell out from under the motor of a moving vehicle turning. Luckily the lady in front of my son saw the kitten fall out and stopped right in the middle of the highway. My son thinking something was wrong with her, stopped in the next lane also stopping traffic. What she stopped for was a little bundle of tan kitten whick my son brought home. What rescue is all about?
Katelyn Comment by Katelyn on May 1, 2009 at 7:39pm
hey everyone, I have four rescues and I never thought I'd have this many. It started with a simple dream to have a puppy to love, for years I begged my dad and he always told me when I moved out I could have my puppy. Well within the first two weeks after I moved out and moved in with my husband I had found a rescue to get my sweet Shelly from, they had found her on their dirt road with bites marks all over her and her four brothers. I am happy to say all five of them have happy forever homes and three of them have a special place in my heart because I had the opportunity to meet them, I must say shelly is my favorite. Then we wanted a puppy to be friends with Shelly because I started working, well I found out about a shelter that was somewhat neglectful of their dogs, not that they didn't have the right idea but they had taken too many in and when I went there, all the puppies were laying in poop and pee, I was so glad to be able to save just one, my little Charles, and later I found out the help at the place was abusing the dogs. So Charles is much better here in a happy loving home. Then I said I was done, I couldn't handle anymore with the little experience I had. Well someone called my work looking to put down their 15 week old kitten so they wouldn't be evicted. They said they were going to put him down today at animal control if we gave them the number. After talking to them for a while I convinced them to let me adopt him from them. So that's my little Stan the Man. Then I was really done, I could not possibly take in another pet. Well I fostered a puppy who died in my care. It wasn't like I didn't take care of him it was just that he had been infested with worms for too long that he was severely anemic to the point his gums were white. I tried to get him a transfusion to make him better but he died in the time of treatment, I didn't know if I could foster again after that. Well then came Mickey, he needed a home so bad because he was living at a hospital (not somewhere that boards) and he had to find a home because he had been abandoned, I offered to foster him because I am part of the rescue I adopted Shelly from now. By the time I brought him home I had already decided it was an adoption. Those are my four brats and how I got them and for all the times I said I couldn't handle anymore, I am so glad I rescued all four of them. They are now happy puppies and kitten with great lives. They sleep with me, the kitten has a room devoted to him for when he needs so peace from the pups. And they all get hugs and kisses everyday, not lonely lives in a shelter or hospital with no one to love on them. So that's my happy story glad to see more people who love rescueing. And if anyone ever needs help in the fayetteville/parkton area of NC I know a great rescue that only does fostering no shelter work.

Please pass this on to everyone you know.

Folks,

Please read about the dogs that have been sentenced to death in North Carolina as part of a pit bull fighting bust. Many groups, aside from Bad Rap in San Francisco, have reached out in offers to rehabilitate the 127. Unfortunately, HSUS, as it did with the Michael Vick dogs, has put its full weight into recommending the dogs be destroyed. It is very disturbing that an organization that reported $91,000,000 in assets jumps so quickly to a decision of destroying these dogs. Any decision regarding the rehabilitation or euthanization must be taken after careful thought and analysis, not a straight from the hip decision.

That analysis has not been undertaken nor even recommended by the representative for HSUS in North Carolina.

This is a situation where letters and emails to the Judge and Commission urging that the individuals and organizations that were involved in the Michael Vick dogs rehabilitation should be called upon for their expertise and analysis.

Please access the link below for the full story.

Thank you.

Please help. A judge has ordered the deaths of 127 dogs seized in a dog fighting raid. The dogs will die simply because of their breed, the belief that their breeding is a predictor of future behavior.

Go here for more information and how you can help try to stop this.
