Welcome catwoman. I have a question for you. I take my GSD to a groomer to cut his nails. They have suggested that twice a year I bring him in for a bath and a special blow dry. They say it is like a vacum dryer and it will reduce his shedding. Have you heard of this, they do not put them in the "box" dryers, do they? Also, I how often can I give Sargeant a bath?

Hi all,
Im glade to be a member of this group. I am also a Professional Pet Groomer with over 20 years experience. I graduated from the
New York School of Dog Grooming in 1978 and have been grooming up to just a year ago. Had to give it up due to illnesses. I miss working with animals very much but do still have a home full of pets. I would be more that happy to also help you with any pet questions you may have.Owning a pet is allot more work than just feeding and walking.

What is the best way to get rid of tear stains? Plus Twinkle will barely let me touch her face. She gets all wiggly and it hard to comb around the eyes. Thanks!

Wendt Worth Corgi's Comment by Wendt Worth Corgi's on November 14, 2008 at 11:42pm
I have a question. What is out there that we may spray in hair coats that would repel dust and make brushing out easier of removing loose hairs and stains on whites from playing in the mud? I know some show groomers will use show sheen which is what we use on our horses but I do not like the stuff. It dries out the hair and adds a silicone film on hair shafts which then will dander to the skin. My favorite product was Vetroline Spray but don't know if that is safe for dogs. Is there anything you recommend that is good but does not make them feel gummy or tacky?
