Our Vizsla, Max- up in years -started having health issues that really took away his quality of life very fast. I had to put him down on 6/28/09.The hardest thing to do I know for any of us who love animals. It hit my husband especially hard, Max saved his life when they were on a walk- deep in the woods and my husband had a heart attack. My husband said if Max had not been there he would have just laid there in the pain, it was very severe. Max our wonderful old boy (was young then) would not take no for an answer he poked, pushed and nudged at my husband and would not let him alone until he got up. Max got him out to the begining of the trail where he could yell for help. A neighbor just happend to go to her sink for a drink of water a noticed Max and my husband.Paramedics got to him and notified me. My husband should not have survived what they call "the widow maker" heart attack. We all know it was due to Max being so persistent to get my husband out of those woods. He was a very special dog and we miss him very much!

Hi Teresa: My deepest sympathy to you and your husband on the loss of your precious, Max. What a hero he was and I know how painful it is to let him go. Just keep in mind that you loved and cared for him and made his life a happy one and in return he loved you too. He will be at Rainbow Bridge with all our fur kids, until we meet again.

Hi Teresa,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious Max. My condolence to you and yours. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry for not responding quicker. I haven't been online too much this past weekend. I know it's very painful when we make the heartbreaking decision to have them put down, especially when they are part of our family. Your memories of Max will help carry you all through.

I can totally understand. I had to put my dog down this march due to lime disease traveling to his liver. It was a very hard thing to do but we had to. My dog might not have saved anyone's life but he sure is missed.
