Our Vizsla, Max- up in years -started having health issues that really took away his quality of life very fast. I had to put him down on 6/28/09.The hardest thing to do I know for any of us who love animals. It hit my husband especially hard, Max saved his life when they were on a walk- deep in the woods and my husband had a heart attack. My husband said if Max had not been there he would have just laid there in the pain, it was very severe. Max our wonderful old boy (was young then) would not take no for an answer he poked, pushed and nudged at my husband and would not let him alone until he got up. Max got him out to the begining of the trail where he could yell for help. A neighbor just happend to go to her sink for a drink of water a noticed Max and my husband.Paramedics got to him and notified me. My husband should not have survived what they call "the widow maker" heart attack. We all know it was due to Max being so persistent to get my husband out of those woods. He was a very special dog and we miss him very much!

I am so sorry, Teresa. I know how much you love Max and I just want you to know that we are here for you. Huge hugs to you and yours during these sad days. I am grateful that Max has had such a wonderful, loving furMom all these years.

I know how hard it is to give up our pet, but if you are like us you do the best you can until it's becomes a question of what is good for the pet or what is less painful for you. Each pet we have in our lives is very special in it's own way and I am sure yours will be greatly missed. Blessings Pat

Max saved your husband, and in return, I'm very sure you have him a wonderful life! Furbabies like that don't happen along every day, they're a blessing and a friend. And there's no limit to how long he should be mourned, don't let anyone tell you later that it's time to be 'over it'. We all must deal with the emotional pain, but we don't get over it. I've had to do it to beloved pets as well, and know the pain. God bless you.

Teresa I know what your going through I too lost my dog benji was very special to me & there's not a day when I look at his picture & miss him something awful I'm sorry for your loss if there's anything I can do please let me know
