Member of the Month - December

Back, by popular demand, we are having another Member of the Month contest. For this contest, we will be using the Leaderboard to determine the top three members of the site. The leaderboard is based on activity on the site and basically just doing what you do here everyday. Click here to access the Leaderboard. Please note that my stats along with the winner from last month, Little Sparrow, will not count for this contest. The below is the point values for the various activities on the site.

Friends 10 points
Groups Joined 20 points
Discussions Started 10 points
Blog Posts 20 points
Photos 5 points
Videos 5 points
Music Tracks 5 points
Events 5 points
Comments Made 20 points
Comments Received 10 points
Forum Posts 20 points
Invites 50 points

The quickest way to gain points is to 1) post commentary to the site and 2) invite your friends. Please note: Since you get points for both comments you place and comment you receive, it is highly recommended that you do not "clear your page" of comments. This will cause points to be reduced.

SInce I can't clear out the data, in fairness to all members, I have captured the leaderboard information from the evening of 30 November, and then we will do a comparison of the data on the 31st of December and re-rank the data. By doing this, only December activity will be counted so we have an even playing field.

Please note that your points only update when you view your page. Be aware that other's points will only show when they view the Leaderboard, too. You can click on the points icon on each member page to view the activity of the member who's page you are visiting. You can check up on any members activity at any time to see how they are doing.

Please NOTE - If a Site Administrator catches you abusing this system by posting SPAM or frivolous comments to gain points - they will delete those and your points will be automatically deducted. Comments that you post to your own comment-wall will not be recognized by the system.

There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. Each winning member will also receive an "award certificate" for their page commemorating their efforts. The first place winner will receive a gift from the site as well.

The contest ends December 31st. Feel free to share the site info using any medium you prefer. If you use MySpace, Facebook, Yearbook, etc., you are free to post bulletin board notices, etc., just be sure that the member signing on to the site uses your name as the "referred by".

WOW --- It's going to be an interesting race for December! Here's the stats so far for the top 30 folks. Don't forget that the quickest way to the top is to invite your friends to the site and to enter comments on member pages/blogs/discussions. Just be active, like you usually are!
