Here's an interesting "would you rather" question. I'll update this periodically and we'll see if we can't drum up some conversation. Love to hear your thoughts, and, if you'd like, feel free to post your own question for the rest of the group to ponder. We'll list three questions. Feel free to respond to all three or any one of the three. Whatever you are comfortable with doing. Hope this is fun for all and, above all, creates some laughter and/or sparks some thought. Don't forget to keep checking back to see what others thoughts are about the topics posted and to even reply to someone else's posting to keep the activity going. We're always open for suggestions on topics, so don't hesitate to submit your ideas.

Would you rather:

1) Be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?
2 Always lose or never play?
3 Have one wish granted today or three wishes granted in 10 years?

]Don't just pick one, elaborate just a little for us.

1) Being stranded on an Island alone would be peaceful, quiet and maybe even relaxing. On the other hand being stranded with someone I hate would present quite a challenage to work out our differences and be able to make a new friend. But then as a Christian I should not hate anyone.

2).if one doesn't loose how can one truly appreciate winning? To loose should be a challenge to work at improving oneself. There is always a winner, always a looser and it doesn't mean you are not special or important. If you don't succeed try,try again and give it your best. Through loosing you can also teach others how to loose gracefully, be a good sport.

3). one wish now or 3 wishes in 10 years? I guess that would depend on what one wishes for. What one wish could accomplish 3 wishes could undo

1) I hear ya on the use of the "hate" word, Ed. I think it's a little strong as well, but... puts the question in a frame of reference. If the word "dislike" was used, it might not get across the gravity. Anyway, excellent point by you!
2) The question was really focusing on always losing so... would you ever get a chance to win in the question? Matters not though for my response... I only play board games, and I probably lose every time -- BUT LOVE IT. :-)
3) Love the thought process. THANK YOU for sharing!

1. Be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?
I wouldn't mind being alone. I've lived alone for 11 years and now live with my daughter. I would dread being around someone I hate because that would create misery for me and the other person as well.

2. Always lose or never play?
Never play sports as I'm useless doing that. I was always chosen last in gym class and did okay. Team mates didn't want a player on their team who didn't know what they were doing (as in they didn't want to lose). I agree with SuzSee as far as playing board games. We do play lots of board games and I never worried about winning or losing, just having fun.

3. Have one wish granted today or three wishes granted in 10 years?
I'd choose one wish granted today. Although, wishing don't make it so.

Excellent point, Edna! But, I guess then it wouldn't be much fun to wish, huh? Any time you want to share some fun new gameboard names with me, please do! We just love playing them. One of my favorites is "ImaginIf" Fun game.

Have one wish granted today, and it be protection and love for all animals, God's wonderful creatures!

Nice wish, Barbara. Hope it one day comes true.

One of my wishes would be the same as yours Barbara and SuzSee and wouldn't this world be a wonderful place to live.

1. I would rather be alone then with someone I hate.
2. I would keep playing in the hopes of getting better and maybe some day winning. Not everyone can win every time.
3. I would like 3 wishes over 10 years because the person I am today will be very different then who I am 10 years from now. :)

Excellent point on the last question, Ronda. Nice to hear a different perspective. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I would rather be stranded with an enemy then I would have a chance to make a new friend, by myself I would just be alone, but sometimes that is not a bad idea either.

I want to play, I don't much care if I win or lose, I like the game.

I'll take the one wish today, who knows if they have 10 more years, I don't.
Of course that may be my one wish to have the next 10 years.

That was my thought exactly on the wish. That old adage of a "bird in the hand beats two in the bush" just comes to mind. :-) Thanks for participating!

I would rather be on an island with someone I hate. Very often you can learn about that person and find out that they really have a good side. Notice I said "very often", as it doesn't always happen.

It takes a better person to lose than it takes to win.

I'd rather take 3 wishes over the span of 10 years. You always have something to look forward to that way.
